Lapad / Babin Kuk is a large peninsula 7 miles to the north of Dubrovnik. Due to the UNESCO restrictions imposed on the old city of Dubrovnik and limited land available for building outside the city walls, the long coastline and beaches of the Lapad / Babin Kuk peninsula has become a natural home for the large resort hotels, bars and restaurants.

With no through roads traffic is relatively light and the peninsula is actually a peaceful and relaxing place with excellent transport links to Dubrovnik, the port city of Gruz and onto the Adriatic Highway (the Jadranska Magistrala).

A promenade, several miles long, winds from Lapad centre through the trees just above the water. It is home to a few bars and restaurants and is a lovely walk of an evening to catch dinner and watch the sun setting behind the Elafiti Islands.
